TAMPA, Fla. -- Smart Meter announces the introduction of a breakthrough service, SmartTouch, that will improve patient adherence. The turnkey program uses omnichannel touchpoints to support patients in successfully using their cellular-enabled monitors and promotes ongoing testing adherence.
The SmartTouch program provides a valuable service supporting care management by delivering consistent reliable testing data to providers. For example, most people with Type 2 diabetes are required to test their blood glucose levels on a regular basis but many don’t follow the direction of their provider, even when enrolled in an RPM program. For patients with other chronic conditions, up to 60 percent are not adherent to their care plan. 1 The SmartTouch program bridges this gap for RPM programs improving the connection between patient and provider.
“I have been in the connected health industry for more than 20 years and SmartTouch could be the most impactful service offering ever to guarantee patient engagement with prescribed clinical monitoring,” said Smart Meter CEO Casey Pittock. “The biggest pain point in the healthcare industry – engaging patients to adhere to their care plan—is solved with SmartTouch. We have proven 94% adherence with this simple, effective, and affordable program to help patients develop habits of managing their health.”
Smart Meter partners who enroll their patients in the program will be guaranteed the requirements needed for reimbursement using CPT codes 99453 and 99454 with be achieved. If not, partners will not be billed for patients not achieving the requirements. More about the program can be found at www.smartmeterrpm.com or call 813-773-4080
